ST. ANDREW THE APOSTLE
Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter. A disciple of John the Baptist, Andrew was one of the first to follow Jesus and is said to have introduced his brother to our Lord. He was present at the last supper and was a close associate of Jesus. After the ascension, he preached the gospel in Greece. St. Andrew was martyred by crucifixion in 60 AD. It is said that he was tied to a cross, not nailed, and preached from the cross to his followers for two days in that condition.
